Coptic Stitch Bookbinding

Come and join me for this Coptic stitch bookbinding workshop. In this class we will start by making hardcovers for our books and then learn the traditional stitch for binding together multiple sections. You will get to choose from recycled 150gsm cartridge paper or 190gsm watercolour paper for your paper and I’ll bring a selection of cover papers for you to choose from.

We will use waxed linen thread to stitch our books.
Coptic stitched books are ideal for sketchbooks because the method allows the book to lie flat when open.

What do I need to bring?

Just your enthusiasm for learning this relaxing and fulfilling craft. All materials and instruction will be provided. Please note, we will be using sharp tools during this class. Refreshments will be provided or are available for you to buy (venue-dependent).
